Abstract Scope |
It is well known that upon the second annealing at higher temperature, the volume/enthalpy of the relaxed glasses induced by pre-annealing first increase (i.e. rejuvenation) before the inevitable aging approach to the equilibrium in the amorphous materials. This is so called well know memory effect. Such a rejuvenation effect triggered by two-step annealing is an easy route to rejuvenate the relaxed glass and may be able to reductilize the embrittled glasses. Here in our talk, we shall report our results on the rejuvenation of metallic glasses using memory effect, in particularly its effect on the mechanical behaviour and reductilization of embrittled glasses. |
