The study of thermodynamic properties during the production of intermetallic titanium-aluminum alloys under the conditions of thermochemical pressing, suggested the following sequence of formation of intermetallic compounds TiAl3 → Ti3Al → TiAl. Thermodynamic analysis showed that for the Ti-Al system the adiabatic combustion temperature is lower than the melting temperature of the final product - intermetallic coupling, which is an insufficient condition for the SHS reaction under normal conditions. The synthesis reaction requires preheating of the system to a temperature of 400-600 K. Also, based on thermodynamic analysis, the sequence of SHS reactions, which lead to the formation of γ-TiAl alloys, helps to clarify the mechanism of their formation. |
