Abstract Scope |
In order to improve technical and economic indexes of blast furnace (BF), the metallurgical properties of blast furnace slag with low MgO were studied systematically based on laboratorial and industrial tests in Ansteel. The results showed that under the conditions of low Al2O3 burden in blast furnace and the MgO content of BF slag of 4%-7%,the melting temperature of BF slag was lower than 1350℃. When the temperature of slag was 1500℃ and the MgO content was higher than 3%, the viscosity of the slag could satisfy the requirement of BF. The best basicity of slag was about 1.245. In industrial test, the MgO content and viscosity of BF slag were maintained in the ranges of 4.5%-5.0% and 0.16-0.20Pa.s, respectively. The desulfurization capacity of the slag with a low MgO content would not decrease by optimizing the basicity of slag. |
