Abstract Scope |
The deformation of the tools caused by high pressing force has been concerned in a practical stamping process. The deformations introduce changes in the die face contact condition, which may affect product quality such as formability, springback, and surface deflection. In order to research these issue, we have developed the system that performs stamping simulation considering in tool deformation. Whereas the increase of time for modeling and calculation is a typical problem with computing structural behavior of tools, both can be drastically reduced in this system by a model reduction technique, in which the fine die face mesh is coupled to the coarse solid mesh. Additionally, this system provides a feature to create simple structural shapes, then simulations can be performed without practical complex shapes. We present some examples of applying this system to automotive parts. It was observed that accuracy was improved while suppressing the increase in lead time. |
