Meeting MS&T23: Materials Science & Technology
Symposium Manufacturing and Processing of Advanced Ceramic Materials
Presentation Title Trends and Opportunities in Manufacturing and Processing of Advanced Ceramic Materials at the National Science Foundation
Author(s) Alexis C. Lewis
On-Site Speaker (Planned) Alexis C. Lewis
Abstract Scope The National Science Foundation (NSF) supports fundamental scientific research, education, and outreach through grants, fellowships, and community-building activities. In this presentation, current trends and opportunities related to Manufacturing and Processing of Advanced Ceramic Materials will be presented, with an emphasis on programs supported by the NSF Directorate for Engineering and cross-NSF Initiatives and programs. The presentation will focus on funding opportunities for faculty at US Institutions, including opportunities for collaboration with industry and with international partners, and activities focused on broadening participation in the scientific research enterprise. Finally, emerging trends and focus areas in the NSF Directorate for Engineering will be discussed.
