Abstract Scope |
EGA is working to improve the accuracy of process control and process prediction through the adoption of Industry 4.0 technologies. There are 2843 pots across EGA two smelter sites. Accurate prediction of pot failures is needed to optimize resources and workforce allocation. The model also helps in achieving the target pot life considering various factors of different EGA technologies with amperage values ranging from 230 kA to 465 kA, construction materials, operating parameters, and failure control measures. In this paper, we will further discuss how the cost of operating with aged pots is compared with the replacement with new cathodes. We use an interactive dashboard where the shop floor can document the system with details of the actions taken to improve the forecast day by day. |
