Abstract Scope |
The study of novel and emerging quantum materials requires the use of non conventional neutron diffraction techniques, which give valuable - and sometimes crucial - insight into the complex magnetic structures that these materials may present. We will use the example of the family of hybrid magnetoelectric and multiferroic compounds A2[FeX5(H2O)] (where A stands for an alkali metal or ammonium ion and X for a halide ion) to illustrate the contribution of polarized neutron diffraction techniques, such as spherical neutron polarimetry anf half-polarized neutron diffraction, to the investigation of this kind of materials. |
