Abstract Scope |
Bone void fillers are widely used in the world; however, some of test methods had not been validated or authorized by the International Organization for Standardization, ISO. In two decades, we have been being tried to standardize several test methods for bone void fillers, so in this presentation, these trials as well as established internationally standardized test methods are introduced.
ISO 19090 allows to compare cell migration ability between two or more porous bone void fillets by simple procedures. In ISO 13175-3, our pore diameter measurement and compressive strength test under biomimic circumstances are standardized. In addition to that, DNA and RNA extraction from sample containing nano hydroxyapatite (HAp) particles are working on standardization, because nano HAp adsorbs large amounts of nucleic acids, proteins, saccharides and other organic molecules such as dye to influence on measurement for cell functions which will be used to qualify tissue engineered medical products. |
