Abstract Scope |
Recent studies are exploring the optical properties and stability of lead-free perovskites for photodetector applications, as lead-based perovskites are quite toxic. In this study, the double perovskite (DP), Cs4MnBi2Cl12 is doped with Fe+3 to enhance the optical performance of the perovskite crystals. Due to the humidity instability of the DP upon doping, the study also seeks to address the humidity concern by observing the effect of SiO2 and Oleic Acid, as an encapsulation for the crystals, in high humidity environments. The effects of the additives are characterized by X-Ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), Raman spectroscopy, and atomic force microscopy (AFM). The study hopes to find that doping the sample will improve the absorption spectra, band gap, and photoluminescence quantum yield (PLQY), and that including the other additives will influence the stability of the perovskites in high humidity conditions over extended periods of time. |
