Elephant leg and breaker jam has long been a challenge in aluminium reduction production, for which the GAMI team has developed the intelligent breaking and feeding technology. After experiments and comparisons on several potlines, GAMI team found that the underlying problems cannot be solved yet. Therefore, the more advanced control technology has been developed. This new technology applies pressure sensor to identify pressure changes of breaking and analyzes breaker jam based on big data collection, with accuracy over 90%. The control strategy, which matched with the single-point feeding technology, can realize quicker and better breaker jam processing with less interruption on pots. More importantly, This technology combines breaker jam management with pot control system and pot superheat control, conducing to reduce the frequencies of elephant leg and breaker jam, improve pot stability and current efficiency, and prolong the service life of breakers and cylinders |
