Abstract Scope |
High Entropy Alloys (HEA) can be defined as solid solutions of five or more elements mixed in nonnegligible proportions (min. 5 at.%). They form well-defined, simple, close packed structures (body centered cubic, face centered cubic or hexagonal). Due to their structural features, HEAs are known for their exceptional mechanical properties, thermal stability at high and low temperatures, and corrosion resistance.
We present the results of synthesis, structural, morphological and physical characterization of Ti<SUB<0.5(VNbZrHf)<SUB<0.5 – the new superconducting high entropy alloy. It belongs to the new type of refractory Ti-rich HEA with high values of upper critical field. In addition to the experimental results we present the DFT theoretical calculations. |
