Abstract Scope |
Considering the depletion of the supply of natural resources, the recycling of solid waste from construction not only creates new products, but also offers ecological and economic alternative. This research developed a composite with 85% of these residues and 15% of orthophthalic polyester resin by vibro system, compression and vacuum. The residue was sieved and separated granulometrically by the simplex centroid method, the best compacted mixture was determined statistically. The residue was characterized by XRF, resin by FTIR. The best composition presented density 2,256 g/cm3, water absorption 0.69%, apparent porosity 1.55%; bending strength 34.74 MPa and compression 111.96 MPa. In this satisfactory scenario, the use of this waste in the composition of artificial stones is promising because it directly meets the concept of sustainable development, replacing the concept of end-of-life of the linear economy, by new circular flows of reuse, restoration and renewal, in an integrated circular economy process. |
