| Abstract Scope |
Magnesium alloys with Zn and Ca alloying elements were processed by hot extrusion and 8 passes of equal-channel angular pressing (ECAP) to achieve ultrafine grained microstructure. Microstructure of the processed alloys after isochronal annealing was studied using scanning electron microscopy and electron backscatter diffraction (EBSD). Mechanical properties were studied by microhardness measurement. Thermal stability is strongly dependent on the amount and type of alloying elements and is discussed in the presentation. |
