| Abstract Scope |
The electrochemical properties of anodically grown titanium dioxide nanotubes (NTs) containing specific concentrations and locations of defects within the crystal structure are discussed as a highly effective hydroxyl radical forming surface for the destruction of bacteria in Pakistani contaminated waters. The engineered defect-laden nano-structure with enhanced electrochemical properties is discussed as an effective point of entry (POE) treatment device that can be powered by small batteries or solar panels in an off-grid system for decentralized water treatment. |
