Abstract Scope |
Over the years, the need for studies on materials discarded in the environment such as ceramics, which is a widely used material in Brazil, has some applications such as tiles, bricks, floors, etc., and ends up generating a lot of by-products that are discarded into the environment. This article seeks to analyze and evaluate the tensile strength of epoxy composites reinforced with chamotte. Four different
formulations were used in this study, namely 5%, 10%, 15% and 20% of volume incorporated into the epoxy resin as a dispersed phase, with the aim of evaluating the behavior of the ceramic residue in the tensile test and studying the feasibility of using it as reinforcement and reducing the use of synthetic materials from petroleum and thus contributing to the environment. The results is very promising to be used as a protective coating in steel structures. |
