| Abstract Scope |
Four examples of PhD research projects carried out under the supervision of the primary author are described. The first is a reverse polarity transferred arc electroreduction of chromium oxide from a molten oxide/silicate bath. Second, is the molten salt electrowinning of boron in a chloride melt. Third is a fundamental study of rare earth oxide electroreduction in a fluoride system. Lastly, is an investigation into the removal of corrosive impurities from a molten chloride system through an electrochemical process. The challenges and results of each are explained. |
