Abstract Scope |
As the safety of nuclear power generation is strengthened and various new reactor types are developed, the need for highly functional nuclear materials is increasing. The extreme environment of nuclear power requires higher performance requirements than materials utilized so far. We are developing functionally graded materials (FGM) that combine different materials using AM technology as a way to improve the performance of materials. The FEM for nuclear power is composed of a combination of materials to obtain high strength on the inside and environmental safety on the outside. Specimens manufactured with AM technology are evaluated for corrosion characteristics and analyzed for microstructure in an extreme environment of 1200 degrees to establish an optimal high-performance material manufacturing technology. |
