Abstract Scope |
Polyethylenimine (PEI)-of variable molecular weight has been found control the formation of gold and Prussian blue nanoparticles of controlled nanogeomery as function of the their molecular weight that allow the formation of PBNP-AuNP nanohybrids with a remarkable change in Prussian blue character as a function of gold cation concentration was also considered. The formation of AuNPs was recorded over a wide range of PEI concentrations displaying PEI concentration-dependent enhancement/quenching of fluorescence useful for non-enzymatic detection of bioanalytes of clinical significance. In a typical application concentration of PEI, AuNPs allowed an increase in the fluorescence signal as function of glucose concentration and the quenching ability of PB was demonstrated to be a function of the glucose concentration. |
