Abstract Scope |
In 2014, the first high-entropy alloy (HEA) superconductor, consisting primarily of 4d and 5d series elements, was found [1], revealing a new facet of the capabilities. A variety of studies have been performed on HEA superconductors since that time, to designate their potential for practical applications.
Up to the present time, HEA superconductors are fabricated primarily through high-temperature arc-melting technique. A promising alternative for this method is mechanical alloying (MA). MA is a solid-state powder-processing technique involving repeated cold welding, fracturing, and re-welding of powder particles in a high-energy ball mill [2].
Physical properties of new superconducting HEAs prepared by MA will be presented. In particular, powders quality were verified by XRD and SEM. Critical superconducting parameters were determined from magnetization, electrical resistivity and specific heat data.
