Abstract Scope |
This study aims to evaluate the use of construction waste (RCC)in the manufacture of soil blocks using geopolymer as a binding material. Conventional and alternative raw materials were characterized through real specific mass tests, specific area, granulometric analysis by sieving, liquidity and plasticity limits, chemical analysis and X-ray diffraction. For technological tests, prismatic specimens 4 x 4 x 16 were made, replacing the soil with RCC in proportions of 0, 25, 50, 75 and 100%. The specimens were cured for 14 and 28 days in a humid chamber with 100% relative humidity, after which the flexural strength, simple compression resistance and water absorption resistance were determined. With the best results in simple compression resistance, soil-geopolymer and soil-geopolymer-residue blocks were molded. The results showed that the soil blocks with waste met ABNT specifications, indicating technical feasibility in using RCC to manufacture soil-lime blocks without structural function. |
