Abstract Scope |
The development of twinning-induced plasticity (TWIP) steels has led to the creation of high-strength steels that offer exceptional ductility and strength properties. The unique TWIP effect enables these steels to undergo extensive deformation before fracturing, thanks to the formation of twins during the deformation process. As a result, TWIP steels are suitable for use in various industries, particularly for structural applications or components requiring high levels of stress and deformation. This paper focuses on the development of new steels that possesses a fully austenitic microstructure, high chromium content, and exceptional strength. The microstructure, mechanical, and corrosion properties of these steels have been extensively studied. |
