Abstract Scope |
Two of the leading materials challenges in Additive Manufacturing (AM) technology is employing a cost-effective and efficient methodology for process parameter optimization, post-processing heat treatment modification, and high-fidelity material microstructure and property prediction in the final printed component. ICMDŽ, or Integrated Computational Materials Design, enables sophisticated materials-centric workflows rooted in mechanistic models of materials process-structure-property linkages to address these challenges. ICMDŽ has powered QuesTek’s 25+ years of materials design, modeling and process/production optimization, and has played a critical role in advancing AM materials qualification for industry. This talk will detail how ICMDŽ enables unique AM-specific modeling and qualification workflows using computational thermodynamics and kinetics within a process-structure-property-performance framework, specifically for process parameter mapping, and accurate, location-specific property prediction. |
