Abstract Scope |
There are various microstructural features to affect mechanical properties and performances. Based on two- or three-dimensional grain structures, digital microstructure can be built and applied for prediction of materials properties. Using EBSD, two-dimensional microstuctures can be obtained and their various features can be accumulated for machine learning prediction. Similarly, three-dimensional microstructures can be characterized using FIB/EBSD (focussed ion beam/electron backscatter diffraction) sequences or DCT (diffraction contrast tomography) methods. In addition, vitual microstructure builders, such as DREAM3D also can be used for generation of microstructures very effectively. Data acquisitions of Microstructures, feature extraction, and their application to mechanical properties will be discussed. |
