Abstract Scope Over the past five years, Albras has significantly improved the quality standards of its cast iron, increasing the Element Adhesion Indicator from 41.3% in 2019 to 91.5% in 2023. Cast iron plays a crucial role in the anode manufacturing process by ensuring the adhesion between the anode and rod. Failures in the cast iron alloy in anodes can also lead to several negative impacts, such as reduced anode performance, increased frequency of anode consumption, anode effects, operational disruptions, and higher production costs. The quality of cast iron is evaluated based on adherence to specific process parameters and controls during its manufacturing. This study aims to demonstrate how the methodologies and actions implemented have led to achieving this high level of quality in the Rodding Shop Process and its subsequent impact on the aluminum production process.
