Abstract Scope |
In 2023, ALBRAS had a high number of side tap outs. In November 2023 about 54% of the tap outs occurred during the anode change modifier. With the objective to reduce the energy consumption and to prevent side tap outs, the extra power input after anode change has been reduced by 60%, reducing the added resistance after anode change (level and duration). This optimization promoted a reduction of energy consumption, a lower ledge variation, a lower voltage per cell, lower silicon content and zero side tap out during the change modifier. This paper discusses the test development and the results of reduced the anode change modifier, which have guided ALBRAS to give the next step for business continuity. |
