Abstract Scope |
Binderjet Additive Manufacturing of WC-Co materials has been demonstrated to be a cost-effective method to produce materials for wear components and applications. The interaction between powder, print parameters and sintering parameters can make it challenging to develop a robust manufacturing process. The ability to optimize powder for the binder jet process is important to reduce interlayer porosity, increase green strength and develop sintering for optimum properties. The composition and particle size distribution can be tailored for the BJAM process. Dimensional control is required for cost effective commercial products. A combination of sinter modeling and experiments can accelerate process and product development. This presentation will discuss effective approaches to accelerate and optimize materials and processes for demanding wear applications. |
