Abstract Scope |
PT. Indonesia Asahan Aluminium, commonly referred to as Inalum Smelter, is a state-owned company based in Indonesia that specializes in the production of ingots, alloys, and billets. Ingots are classified into two categories, with those exhibiting lower Fe concentration (HPM) have a higher market price. Additionally, HPM pots can be utilized to produce alloys. Some strategies are being implemented to increase the number of HPM pots. These include, analysing key parameters such as metal height, bath height, bath temperature, acidity, anode condition, Fe content in alumina, and recycle material. The methods used include modifying the teeth blade, optimizing the AC cycle, intensively monitoring bath height, establishing a localized HPM central station, and standardizing the metal height and pot acidity. This approach increased the HPM pot ratio from 14% in 2017 to 20% in 2021. |
