Abstract Scope |
In recent times, High Entropy Alloy (HEA) and Additively Manufactured (AM) materials with their unique structural characterization, tailorable chemical composition, and corresponding tunable properties, have drawn increasing interest in energy technology, corrosion, and wear resistance. These alloys have been investigated under proton and heavy ion-irradiation-induced damage mechanisms and mimicking neutron irradiation effects on mechanical properties, and chemical reordering for accelerated testing of aging and degradation of nuclear plant materials. Further, the irradiation makes the AM alloy harder in terms of nano-hardness and contributes to an increment of the maximum shear strength affecting the yield and shear strength. In this presentation, we will discuss how the irradiation mechanisms affect the HEA and AM part integrity at the surface and sub-surface levels, to draw new models on strain rate sensitivity for product qualification and different testing methods. |
