| Abstract Scope |
Professor Hubert I. Aronson - known as “Hub” to his friends, students, and colleagues - had a major impact on the field of solid state phase transformations. His impact was felt not only in the seminal research and publications for which he was responsible, but also in the cascading effect resulting from his influence on the careers of a cadre of highly successful researchers. This talk will provide some highlights of Professor Aaronson’s viewpoints and key findings in the area of solid state, diffusional phase transformations. It will also consider his impact on this field via his tutelage and development of a number of researchers (i.e., graduate students and/or post-doctoral researchers) who have themselves gone on to make major contributions to the field. |
