Abstract Scope |
Geopolymeric materials have been widely studied by science due to their properties similar to Portland cement. These materials have ecological and energetic advantages due to their production processes. However, there are some components that have a high cost, such as those that make up the activating solution. Another obstacle in relation to studies involving geopolymers is the absence of standards, in many cases an adaptation of those used in Portland cement is made. In this context, the objective of this work is to produce geopolymeric metakaolin mortars and investigate the influence of the volumetric reduction of standardized prismatic and cylindrical specimens for cement, in order to investigate whether there is a statistical difference in the properties of mechanical resistance to flexion and compression, and water absorption that makes its use unfeasible. smaller and more economical molds. The molds were efficient and generated considerable material savings. |
