There was no efficitive economical method for extraction nickel from low-grade laterite nickel ore. A multi-step process to deal with low-grade lateritic nickel ore was proposed to produce nano-silica, ferric oxide and nickel oxide, and the disposal was environmental friendly. The technique of XRF, ICP, XRD and SEM-EDS were used to character the chemical composition, mineral phases and physical chemical properties. The thermodynamic analysis has proved the feasibility of sulfuric acid leaching. The results showed that sulfuric acid leaching laterite nickel ore can produce silica, Ferric oxide and nickel oxide with the particle size in 50~80 nm. |
