Abstract Scope |
The challenges in post processing synchrotron diffraction data means a significant portion of information is often left unleveraged due to practical constraints. This is especially prominent in the standard approaches to analyzing far field data; diffraction peaks are often only used to determine the centroids and median orientations of grains. Our work looks to circumvent the traditional indexing and forward modeling process by instead directly converting far field data to a Fourier space representation and solving the Orientation Distribution Function (ODF). Additionally, a variation of this technique is explored for investigating probabilistic distributions of intragranular strain. The goal is to provide a streamlined toolset for analyzing probabilistic evolutions in both strain and orientation data during in-situ testing, with an emphasis on per-grain statistics. Methods for deconvoluting the effects of both beam spread and pixel bloom in Fourier space are also investigated. |
