Laibin-Yinhai Aluminium is located in Laibin City, Guangxi Province, China. It commenced operation in 2007 with a 330kA potline, 280 cells, annual production 250 kMt.
On August 26, 2021, the government issued the Notice on Improving the Ladder Electricity Price Policy of Electrolytic Aluminum Industry, requiring that the comprehensive power consumption standard of electrolytic aluminum should be set as 13650kWh/t.al from 2022, and below 13300kWh/t.al from 2025. If it's more than that, the power price will be increased by 0.01 yuan for every 20 kilowatt-hours.
Due to the technology of 330kA potline was far from the industry benchmark. According to current indicators, the production cost will be greatly increased by then, which will threaten the survival of the company. Therefore, the company decided to upgrade the electrolytic cell lining, busbar configuration, superstructure and so on, so that the power consumption meets the requirements of the national policy. |
