Abstract Scope The blast furnace is an efficient and stable iron production reactor, but it is also a major contributor to energy consumption and CO2 emissions, The comprehensive mathematical model of hydrogen rich smelting in blast furnace was used to determine the operating range of blast furnace tuyere injection, providing technical guidance for oxygen rich injection of coalbed methane in blast furnace tuyeres. The stduy has shown that as the amount of coalbed methane injection increases, the adiabatic flame temperature of the raceway decreases, and the temperature of the top gas of the furnace increases. when the coalbed methane injection volume is 80Nm3/tHM, the coal injection volume needs to be reduced by 20kg/tHM, which can keep the amount of unburned coal in the blast furnace basically unchanged, and maintain the stable and smooth operation of the blast furnace, and reduce the direct CO2 emissions of the blast furnace by 5.6%.
