| Abstract Scope |
In 1990, I made my first presentation at an IIW annual assembly in Montreal on the topic of rapid solidification of stainless steels under pulsed laser welding conditions. Since then I have attended over 30 annual assemblies and been involved in the technical activities of IIW primarily through the activities of Commissions IX and II, both of which focus heavily on the topic of welding metallurgy.
This presentation will briefly describe the evolution of welding metallurgy principles over the past 30 years and provide a roadmap for the continued evolution of this field. |
