Abstract Scope |
High Entropy Alloys (HEAs) have garnered significant attention for their exceptional properties, attributed to key factors including lattice distortion, sluggish diffusion, high entropy, and the cocktail effect. In this study, we employ transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and molecular dynamics simulations to investigate the impact of lattice distortion on dislocation formation and motion in single crystals and polycrystals of CrCoNi and VCoNi HEAs subjected to nanoindentation. The goal of our study is to investigate the role of lattice distortion in dictating dislocation behavior within these complex alloy systems, which can be helpful for the design and optimization of HEA materials. |
