| Abstract Scope |
Recent research in nanoscience has advanced toward controlling nanoparticles with atomic precision. In this talk I will present recent progress in controlling gold and bimetallic nanoclusters with atomic precision, including the wet-chemistry synthetic methods, atomic-level total structure determination by X-ray crystallography, and novel electronic and optical properties. The attainment of atomically precise nanoclusters offers exciting opportunities to pursue many fundamental issues that were previously difficult to tackle, as well as new applications in areas such as optics and electrocatalysis for water splitting and CO2 reduction reactions. |
