Abstract Scope |
The performance of polycrystalline materials is significantly influenced by their crystal microstructure, which is determined by the migration of grain boundaries (GBs). Traditional methods for characterizing GB motion typically rely on 2D electron microscopy or destructive 3D measurements. In this study, we leverage the non-destructive capabilities of Laboratory Diffraction Contrast Tomography (LabDCT) to track individual GBs in Ni over time. This allows us to analyze their behavior and verify potential mechanisms, providing a deeper understanding of GB dynamics. Here, we will discuss the impact of GB character and energy on grain growth at different temperatures. |
