Abstract Scope |
Electric arc furnace (EAF) steelmaking involves the integrated utilization of various energy sources, including electrical and chemical energy. Effective energy input operations can significantly enhance smelting efficiency and lower production costs. This study modelled the energy input stages of the Consteel EAF steelmaking process, developing a power supply simulation model and an oxygen balance model for the EAF. Based on the law of energy conservation, a staged energy supply optimization model was established for Consteel EAF smelting, optimizing the energy input curve. The optimized energy supply curve model has been effectively implemented in a 120-ton Consteel EAF, resulting in a reduction of 24 kWh/ton in power consumption and a 2.5-minute decrease in the smelting time. |
