Abstract Scope |
PbTe is an excellent and commercially available mid-temperature thermoelectric material. Enhancing the thermoelectric figure-of-merit (zT) of n-type PbTe through doping is critical, as is improving joint stability by applying an appropriate connecting and/or diffusion barrier layer in a PbTe-based thermoelectric device. This study synthesizes a high zT n-type PbTe material through Mn and Cu codoping. Mn doping effectively tunes the electrical properties and reduces thermal conductivity, while Cu doping enhances n-type conductivity. As a result, an n-type PbTe-based single leg achieves a conversion efficiency of 6% under a temperature difference of 350 K. |
