Abstract Scope |
In order to study the mechanism of slipping problem between strip and bridle roll during speed-up process for the skin pass mill (SPM), a mathematical model of strip slipping on bridle roll of SPM is established and a quantitative index called “strip slip risk factor” is proposed. Based on this model, the influencing factors are analyzed including friction coefficient, tension difference, wrap angle, strip velocity, acceleration and so on. It is found that increasing the friction coefficient, decreasing the tension difference, decreasing the velocity and acceleration will decrease the strip slip risk. For the sake of solving the strip slipping problem on bridle roll of SPM during speed-up process found in the field, the corresponding optimization measures are put forward in the light of calculating results. After the optimization, the monthly slipping times of strip on bridle roll are obviously reduced. |
