Abstract Scope |
Using atomistic simulation, we investigate and classify localized processes leading to structural change and relaxation within Lennard Jones binary glasses. We do this as a function of time-scale, temperature and degree of relaxation, and consider how such mechanisms affect transport, structural decorrelation and plasticity within the glassy regime. The data is discussed in terms of the alpha, beta and gamma mechanisms assumed to underlie recent dynamical spectroscopy and x-ray photon correlation spectroscopy experiments. |
