Abstract Scope |
Ring formation in the rotary kiln decreases the performance and productivity of the pellet ore. Inhibiting the formation of the ring contributes to improving pellet quality and stabilizing production. Previous research has been conducted on the rotary kiln's ring formation and the impact of the raw materials. However, the role played by alkali metal impurities in the process of ring formation has not been investigated. In this study, the actual ring was analyzed and thermodynamic calculations were adopted to explore the origins of alkali metals and their effect on ring formation in the rotary kiln. It is concluded that alkali metals entered the liquid phase and achieved enrichment through formatting aluminosilicate. When the temperature exceeded 1200°C, the liquid phase generation of coal ash with high alkali metal content reached 22.78%. Reducing the amount of coal ash in the kiln can effectively suppress ring formation. |
