Abstract Scope |
The Ironmaking Slag is a regular bi-product form Ironmaking Industry and this has been utilised by brick manufacturing industries. The main objective of this work is to determine effect of TiO2 and V2O3 on thermophysical properties of slag containing 5wt.% Fe2O3.
The slag viscosity has been directly influenced by increasing TiO2 in slag. The similar behaviour can be observed with increasing V2O3 content. The flow behaviour shows a notable change in transition temperatures as well as in flow stage with varrying oxides content. The slag viscosity has decreased containing upto 10wt.% TiO2. Higher TiO2 content results increase in viscosity due to “Perovskite Phase” formation.
The novelty of the work lies in analysing the effect of V2O3 on the thermo physical properties of the Blast Furnace Slag owing to limited resources. Finally, these slags are simulated using FactSage 8.1 to study varrying Phase Distribution and Solid Fraction. |
