Abstract Scope |
Oxygen-hydrogen combustion power generation system is one of the key technologies to realize a net-zero carbon society. Candidate structure materials for this promising power generation system require both enough mechanical strength and excellent steam oxidation behavior at 1273 K. In this study, we propose a novel wrought Ni-based alloy and examine the oxidation behavior of the alloy at 1273 K in both ambient air and steam. Both outer and inner chromia scales formed on the alloy in steam, resulting in thicker chromia scale formation, whereas chromia scale grew outward in ambient air. Additionally, intergranular oxides were penetrated deeper in steam compared to ambient air. In this study, the effect of water vapor on the oxidation behavior of the alloy is discussed based on the obtained results. |
