    | Abstract Scope |

Newly developed 2.0 GPa-grade hot stamping (or press hardening) steel for automotive application have been investigated by using nanoindentation. Nanohardness of individual phases in localized zone of martensitic microstructure was analyzed in order to obtain a better understanding of how higher strength martensitic microstructure is sensitive to hydrogen embrittlement. The results are discussed in terms of the influence on dislocation plasticity of unit microstructure and the prevailing mechanism of size dependent plastic deformation. |
