Abstract Scope |
Sinter-based additive manufacturing (AM) technologies have gained increasing attention due to their advantages in high productivity and low cost compared to powder bed fusion methods. This presentation aims to review the research progress in sinter-based AM of titanium, encompassing various methods such as binder-jetting, moldjet, cold metal fusion, fused deposition modeling, and others. Additionally, it introduces a new method called hydrogen sintering and phase transformation (HSPT) for sintering titanium parts fabricated through these prototyping techniques. Our results demonstrate that HSPT yields superior mechanical properties compared to sintering in inert atmospheres. |
