Abstract Scope |
The industrial sector is in a growing need for new materials that show good results and are from renewable sources. The use of natural lignocellulosic fibers obtained from vegetables and plants has been more valued, and there has been a surrounding study with the aim of having more environmentally correct alternatives to replace non-recyclable materials. The objective of this research is to study how the epoxy composite reinforced with açaí behaves in the mechanical flexural test and compare the results with pure resin. With this, specimens were prepared with the incorporation of 5%, 10%, 15% and 20% of açaí in volume. The results showed that with the incorporation of açaí particles in the epoxy resin, the resistance tends to fall at first, to a minimum of 10% vol. and then back up the resistance and with 20% vol. resistance has an atypical sudden increase. |
