Abstract Scope This study explores the fabrication of microneedle patches for interstitial fluid (ISF) extraction using vat photopolymerization based 3D printing technology. Leveraging vat photopolymerization, we custom-design patches with microneedles to optimize fluid extraction efficiency and patient comfort. The incorporation of a Silicon carbide (SiC) into the polymer matrix enhances the mechanical properties and biocompatibility of the patches. This approach offers a minimally invasive method for accessing valuable biological information. The precise control facilitated by 3D printing enables the creation of microneedle designs tailored to specific applications, ensuring optimal performance. Furthermore, the use of SiC improves patch durability and safety. Our research contributes to the development of advanced ISF extraction devices with improved functionality and potential patient outcomes. These patches hold promise for applications in continuous monitoring of biomarkers, disease diagnosis, drug delivery, and biomedical research.
