| Abstract Scope |
Heterostructured materials have quickly emerged as a major materials research field, because of new materials science associated with them as well as their great potentials for large-scale industrial applications. However, we often hear some misconceptions on the fundamentals of this new class of materials during discussions at workshops and conferences as well as in the literature. In this talk I’ll attempt to clarify these concepts, including the definition of heterostructured materials, the fundamental principles, the measurement of the heterostructure effect, the deformation behavior, as well as the guidelines for designing heterostructured materials. |
